A few weeks ago after Institute, my friend Emily came up to me and asked if I was in the market for buying a piano. Cautiously I said, "It depends on the price." She went on to tell me that she and Shaun are moving to a new, smaller apartment and wanted to sell their piano. She said that they bought it for $350 and were willing to sell it for less. She said basically that I could name my price. A few days later, I went over to their house to look at the piano and play it. It seemed nice. There are a couple of quirks, but I didn't mind them. I looked at my finances and determined that I could probably invest $200 in this piano. I informed Emily and she said that would be great. A few weeks later, they were able to get a few people in the ward to help move the piano to my house. When they arrived to deliver the piano this past Thursday, Shaun informed me that Emily had lowered the price to $150. So, now I have a piano that plays quite nicely for the cost of a somewhat expensive textbook. I think I will get much more use out of the piano than I would out of some of those textbooks I have to buy.
I am really enjoying having a piano. My roommate is enjoying it as well. It is so nice to play. I love that I can practice my song for choir and not have to imagine playing the notes that aren't on my keyboard. It is just great. There is just something about playing a piano that a keyboard can't quite capture.
I do wonder what I will do with it if I end up moving into a smaller place, but unless I get married, I plan on staying in this house for the next two years, so I have time to think about it. If nothing else I can always pass it on to someone else, or give it to my parents. For now though, I have a piano of my very own and it is GREAT. Well, so long.

Rain and gardens
It is raining outside right now and I am enjoying the sound it makes on my roof. It has been raining a lot recently which has prevented me from putting the 'invisible fence' powder on my pea plants to keep the rabbits from eating them. Hopefully the rain will stop before the plants are all gone. If they end up gone, I will just have to plant some more. I like gardening although there is lots I don't know. I figure I can always try things and if they don't work, I will know not to do them next time and if they do work, great.
Also because of the rain I haven't planted the rest of my garden yet, not that I have had tons of time to do it since it is exam week and everything. It is lots of wonderful water, but not doing my unplanted seeds any good, except maybe raising the water table.
Well, as much as I don't want to, it would probably be best if I did a little more studying tonight. Farewell.
